Our win-cgi script converts XLS files into HTML
format, so that they can be intergrated into your site.
HTML documents load much faster and can be read by any web browser but original XLS worksbooks/spreadsheets requires MS Excel to be installed in order to view them.
XLS2WEB allow to read/open the any MS Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, QuattroPro, Open Office files on server side and return the html-converted contents (to client browser).
The script don't use any external libraries (no MS Excel/Office, no BDE, no ODBC, no ADO etc) and you may run this tool on computer without any additional setup/install. Very fast and don't eat a lot of server resources.
All MS Excel files supported (spreadsheets, workbooks etc) with automatical unicode conversion.
Our engine supports the xlsx/xlsb/xlsm files from MS Office 2007/2010/2013/2016.
Only MS Windows platform for web-server supported.

|How to use|
- unzip files from download zip-archive
- copy the xls2txt.exe to any virtual directory of IIS (usually c:\inetpub\wwwroot folder) or any other web-server)
- open the browser (Internet Explorer) and type the next URL:
where yourfile.xls is a real file name and as result your xls-file will be loaded in browser as html
If your xls-file have a few sheets ( xls is workbook), then you also may specify the sheet name to display in browser:
where x is a sheet index (first sheet is 1, second sheet is 2 etc)
If you want o load first page only from document, include the "firstpage=true" parameter:
Of course, if your xls-files are in another directory (not in wwwroot), you must specify a full file path. For example:
